Stephen Ministry is a new ministry at Fellowship of the Rockies. Stephen Ministry equips believers to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care for individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

Some of the things that A Stephen Minister is…
A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting.
A congregation member with gifts for care-giving who was carefully selected to
serve in this role.
A believer who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care and is committed to serve for at least two years; visiting with his or her care receiver weekly and participating in Supervision Group Sessions and Continuing Education twice per month.
A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports and encourages.
Someone who will “be there” for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour week, for as long as there is a need.
A believer who has a close and growing relationship with our Lord.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the
God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any
trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
